India's inaugural dedicated publisher for PC and console games has successfully completed its pre-seed funding round

1312 Interactive, recognized as India's pioneering PC and console game publishing entity, has recently concluded its pre-seed funding phase.

The company, established by gaming veterans Deepak Gurijala and Raviteja Mantena, aims to "discover, nurture, and publish world-class indie and AA games for global audiences." They have garnered initial support from industry figures such as Akshat Rathee and Gautam Virk (Nodwin Gaming / Goodgame Investments), Rajat Ojha (Gametronics), Sridhar Muppidi (YesGnome), Tanay Tayal (formerly of Moonfrog), the founders of Playsimple, Vatsal Chintalpati (ExMachina investment partners), and Rick Herman (a former executive at Sony and Amazon).

In a statement, Gurijala and Mantena remarked on the underrepresentation of Indian talent in the global PC and console games arena, expressing 1312 Interactive's mission to alter this narrative. "Our aspiration is to showcase Indian-developed games to international audiences, ensuring local studios receive the necessary support to create top-tier games. Furthermore, we are considering collaborations with developers in South East Asia, the MENA region, and South America," they conveyed.

The company has already scheduled three game releases for 2025: Winds of Arcana by Brewed Games, Palm Sugar: A Village Story by Mono Tusk Studios, and Souls of Bombarika by Street Lamp Games. Additionally, they plan to release six to eight more titles every year.
