Nintendo has revealed that it will end its My Nintendo Gold Points initiative on March 24, 2025.

After this date, buyers of digital items will no longer accumulate Gold Points, including those making purchases with Nintendo eShop card balances.

Nintendo mentioned, "some retailers might still offer Nintendo eShop cards that mention Gold Points accumulation."

While these cards can still be purchased and redeemed for their intended value, no Gold Points will be earned upon their use.

Gold Points will still be awarded for digital pre-orders or physical games sourced before the cutoff date.

Collected Gold Points are set to remain usable until the final day of the month a year from the date they were earned.

Physical games released on or before March 24 can still generate these points if purchased later. Games launched following this date will not qualify.

In a recent development, Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2, showcasing new hardware features like magnetically connected Joy-Cons and a USB-C port.
