Toast Interactive, a virtual reality studio based in Australia, has shut down its office, leading to significant staff reductions.

Co-founders Toni and Richard Eastes shared the news on social media, abstaining from detailing the reasons behind this move.

Last November, the company had let go of ten employees, citing challenges in maintaining a sizable independent workforce.

The co-founders expressed their dismay over the decision, stating, "It's a heartbreaking decision that we never wanted to make." They assured that they would support affected staff as much as possible.

"We take immense pride in the achievements of our team. The dedication and creativity that went into developing Max Mustard is truly exceptional," they continued.

The statement also mentioned, "We plan to keep enhancing Richie's Plank Experience and Max Mustard with a more streamlined strategy. We appreciate everyone who has contributed to Toast's journey."

In response to questions about the potential release of Richie's Plank Experience on PSVR2, the company indicated it is "99% sure it'll happen."

Established in 2016, Toast Interactive is renowned for its VR games, including Richie's Plank Experience and Max Mustard.
