The developers of Genshin Impact have "held accountable" more than 200 leakers
Three years ago, miHoYo began actively pursuing leakers of Genshin Impact and its other games. The company announced that since then, it has taken action against more than 200 individuals who leaked information online.

The developers stated that the leakers were held accountable, either administratively or criminally, depending on the circumstances.
It is known that at least some offenders were fined. The largest fine imposed on an individual was 550,000 yuan ($75,800).
It is worth noting that miHoYo launched a so-called "intellectual property protection operation" in 2022. At that time, the company reported it would combat not only leaks but also the spread of cheats, the creation of private servers, and other violations of its rights. It has kept its promise. For instance, at the end of 2024, miHoYo won a court case in Canada against the creators of the cheat programs Akebi GC, Acrepi, and Genshin XYZ — they were ordered to pay the developers of Genshin Impact $1.05 million as compensation. Additionally, prior to this, the Chinese police arrested sellers of other cheats, manufacturers of counterfeit merchandise, and the author of a Genshin Impact hentai work.
