Thunderful Gothenberg has announced a rebranding, now operating under the name Stormteller Games

The gaming studio previously known as Thunderful Gothenburg is now operating under the name Stormteller Games.

The merge of Image & Form and Zoink! Games formed Thunderful Gothenburg in 2017. Recently, the name change was implemented to ensure the new identity resonates with all studio members.

The inaugural project under the rebranding, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, is set for release later this year.

Studio head Johan Petersson shared with GamesBeat that it took almost a year of involving everyone in the studio to finalize the new name, emphasizing that they aimed to maintain a connection to Gothenburg.

Petersson noted their strategy involves blending the best aspects of both original studios while ensuring sustainable game development to avoid excessive workload. They focus on refining gameplay to enhance player experience.

This announcement follows Jumpship co-founder Dino Patti regaining control of the studio after staff reductions at Thunderful last November and acquiring a stake in the Viewfinder developer, Sad Owl Studios.
