Paradox has announced the acquisition of Haemimont Games
Paradox Interactive has purchased the Bulgarian game developer Haemimont Games, though the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Haemimont Games, celebrated for its strategic titles such as Surviving Mars, will now operate as a wholly owned division under Paradox following this acquisition.
The move has been characterized by Paradox as part of its strategic aim to strengthen its presence in the management games sector by enhancing its internal development capabilities.
The leadership and employees of Haemimont Games will remain in their current roles, and the studio's active projects will proceed as planned.
The transaction comprises an immediate cash payment and an additional compensation based on performance, which is expected to be distributed over the next few years.
Gabriel Dobrev, founder of Haemimont Games, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, "Joining Paradox allows us to expand the potential of our game offerings, bringing more profound and immersive experiences to our audience."
"The collaboration brings new opportunities for our team's creativity, technology, and innovation, which we are eager to explore," he continued.
Previously, we engaged with Paradox Interactive's deputy CEO, Mattias Lilja, to address the challenges the company has encountered in its strategy, such as the cancellation of the project Life By You and the closure of Paradox Tectonic.
