"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" has climbed to become the second highest-grossing film adapted from a video game to date
The third installment of Sonic the Hedgehog has achieved the status of the second highest-earning video game film globally.
This movie follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which topped the charts with an impressive $1.26 billion. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has reached $462 million worldwide, securing its place as a leading success among video game adaptations.
Detective Pikachu earned $450 million in comparison, with 2016's Warcraft bringing in $439 million.
In terms of earnings, Rampage grossed $428 million, while both Uncharted and the second Sonic the Hedgehog film earned $407 million and $405 million, respectively.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2027.
