Kukouri Mobile Entertainment has announced its departure from the gaming sector.

According to PocketGamer.biz, the company offloaded its intellectual properties, Pixel Worlds and Tiny Troopers, to Social First. Kukouri's CEO, Petri Piipari, noted that Pixel Worlds lacked commercial success for some time. "With the only remaining active Tiny Troopers title being managed externally, the tough choice was to shut down all gaming operations," stated Piipari.

The company's website now displays a simple message: "Notice: This website has been shut down. Thanks for all the years."

Social First expressed their enthusiasm for the acquisition, describing it as an obvious decision. According to Kim Soares, CEO and founder of Social First, "We continue to develop Nexus Station alongside our early community, including many enthusiasts from Pixel Worlds, and acquiring these IPs will not alter our current development path."

"We aimed to secure Kukouri's intellectual properties as they hold significance for many on our team."

Soares added, "In my 25 years of experience in the gaming industry, Pixel Worlds boasted one of the most impressive online communities. We aspire to see that community reconvene within Nexus Station."
