Ted Price set to be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame
Insomniac Games founder and retiring CEO Ted Price will be honored by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences with an induction into its Hall of Fame during the DICE Awards scheduled for next month.
Price recently revealed his decision to step down as CEO after leading the studio for 30 years. In March, Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang will assume the roles of co-studio heads.
"For over three decades, Ted has led Insomniac Games and steered our industry with remarkable integrity," said Schneider. "His influence is evident in Insomniac's aim to positively influence lives, leaving a memorable impact on employees, partners, and players."
AIAS president Meggan Scavio commented: "Ted's journey from establishing Insomniac Games as an independent entity to it becoming a major PlayStation studio has significantly shaped our industry."
Scavio continued, "His enduring contributions include a vast lineup of cherished games, a respected studio founded in his name, and a substantial influence on the Academy."
Founded in 1994 by Price, Insomniac Games is renowned for creating series such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Marvel's Spider-Man.
Beyond game development, Price played a key role in Insomniac's philanthropic efforts, notably as the executive sponsor for Sony Interactive Entertainment's Global Social Justice Fund.
The 28th edition of the DICE Awards will coincide with the conference on February 13 at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas.
