Dragon Age: The Veilguard sold at half of EA's expectations

Electronic Arts (EA) has lowered its forecast for the third quarter of fiscal 2025 (October-December 2024) and for the entire year. The reason was the lackluster performance of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and EA SPORTS FC 25.

In its report to investors, EA stated that as of December 31, 1.5 million people played Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This is nearly 50% less than the company had anticipated.

EA did not disclose the figures for EA SPORTS FC 25. It is only known that the football simulator earned less in the quarter than EA had hoped.

EA now expects its net revenue for the third quarter to be $1.88 billion, with net bookings of $2.2 billion. Previously, it forecasted revenue in the range of $1.87-2 billion and hoped for bookings no lower than $2.4 billion.

For the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, EA now anticipates receiving about $7-7.15 billion in net bookings compared to the previous expectation of $7.5-7.8 billion.

After the report was released, EA's stock price plummeted by 11.56% in post-market trading, down to $125.9 per share.
