Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set to debut in March 2027

Paramount Pictures has announced that the release of "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" is slated for March 19, 2027, in theaters.

The announcement of the fourth movie's pre-production came just before "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" premiered on December 20, 2024.

In its opening week, the third installment achieved $211.5 million at the box office. As per Box Office Mojo, its current worldwide earnings stand at $422.4 million.

The third film has surpassed the earnings of the previous two movies in the series. The original "Sonic the Hedgehog" film from 2020 accumulated $319.7 million, while the sequel in 2022 generated $405.4 million.

As of early January 2025, the Sonic movie franchise had surpassed the $1 billion mark in global box office revenue.
