Astro Bot has been awarded Game of the Year at the New York Game Awards 2025
At the 14th annual New York Game Awards held yesterday, Astro Bot emerged as the Game of the Year. Team Asobi's platforming title was up for four awards and triumphed in three categories, including Best Kids Game and Best Music in a Game.
Another standout at the event was FromSoftware's Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which garnered recognition for Best World and Best DLC. In addition, UFO 50 by Mossmouth clinched Best Indie Game, while Zenless Zone Zero from MiHoYo secured Best Mobile Game honors. Meanwhile, the accolade for Best AR/VR Game was given to Batman: Arkham Shadow, developed by Camouflaj.
Troy Baker was awarded Best Acting in a Game for his role as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, presented by Matthew Porretta, famous for his roles in Alan Wake and Control.
In other achievements, the award for Best Writing in a Game went to Studio Zero's Metaphor: ReFantazio, while Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 received the accolade for Best Remake. The indie game Mouthwashing captured the Best Hidden Gem award.
Sam Lake, Remedy's creative director, was honored with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award, recognizing his contributions since joining the Finnish company in 1995.
