EA Origin is set to close in April 2025

With Microsoft's decision to cease support for 32-bit software, EA Origin will cease operations on April 17, 2025.

To continue playing, Origin users must switch to the EA app, designed for Windows 64-bit, which is accessible on EA's website.

The transition to the EA app should be seamless, with games migrating once users log in with their Origin credentials. Cloud-enabled game saves will migrate automatically, while data from games without cloud support will need manual transfer.

Players upgrading their operating system can avoid redownloading games. However, when changing to a new PC, they must transfer data.

EA Origin debuted in June 2011, and the EA App became available in October 2022. EA announced plans to gradually replace Origin with the new app at that launch.
