Media: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Game Director to Leave BioWare
In the coming weeks, Corinne Busche, who served as the game director for the latest installment of Dragon Age, may be leaving BioWare. Eurogamer reports this information, citing their sources.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The exact reason why Busche is leaving BioWare is not known. According to Eurogamer, her resignation is not directly linked to the performance of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. For the record, the game's sales have not been officially disclosed, but analysts have reported that it had a "good, but not outstanding" start, at least in the United States.
Busche joined Electronic Arts — BioWare’s parent company — 18 years ago. Over the years, she has contributed to the development of numerous games, including The Sims 3 and The Sims 4. She assumed the role of game director for Dragon Age: The Veilguard in February 2022. It is still unclear what Busche plans to do after leaving BioWare.
Rumors that Busche is preparing to leave BioWare have been circulating on the internet since the early morning of January 17. These rumors surfaced after blogger SmashJT published a farewell letter that Busche supposedly sent to her colleagues. Additionally, SmashJT claimed that, according to his information, BioWare intends to close its Edmonton studio in February — this part of the rumors is refuted by Eurogamer’s sources. If Eurogamer's sources are to be believed, no changes other than Busche's departure are planned at BioWare.
