Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Switch 2
The company Nintendo has officially unveiled its next console — the Nintendo Switch 2.
The developers refrained from providing details and only showcased the device's design. In the announcement trailer, it can be noted that the Nintendo Switch 2 is slightly larger than its predecessor, and the Joy-Con controllers now seemingly attach to the console using magnets.
The Nintendo Switch 2 features backward compatibility with games from the original Switch. However, as Nintendo clarifies, some titles will not be fully supported. Among the launch games is a new installment of Mario Kart.
The sales of the Nintendo Switch 2 will begin this year. The exact date and price are not yet available.
Nintendo will reveal more about the console and its debut games at a Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled for April 2, 2025.
