Developer Soul Assembly, known for Just Dance VR, has reduced its workforce by 15%.

UploadVR reports that the layoffs have impacted employees within the QA, marketing, and animation sectors.

Soul Assembly's CEO, David Solari, stated, "This decision was made to align our studio with the demands of upcoming projects. We are offering support to those affected as they pursue other opportunities and appreciate their contributions."

Solari emphasized that the move was vital for the company's future amid the industry's challenging environment.

Several affected employees, such as 3D artist Kristina Jonaityte, QA technician Simon Kent, QA team lead Jamie Keys, and senior character artist Jonathan Pearmain, have shared their experiences on LinkedIn.

Pearmain remarked on LinkedIn, "Once again, I find myself caught in the industry's fluctuations. I will be redundant by the week's close."

Soul Assembly, headquartered in Leamington Spa, was established in 2022 following its separation from Pixel Toys. By 2023, the company employed more than 70 personnel.

The studio is recognized for producing games like Drop Dead: The Cabin, Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister, and Last Stand.
