NextBeat studio launched as a spin-off from Space Ape

Space Ape Games has taken a significant step forward by launching a new studio, NextBeat.

According to PocketGamer, Simon Hade, co-founder of Space Ape, has been appointed CEO, alongside product manager George Yao, head of operations Imogen Turner, and live ops and player manager, Daisy Fletcher.

In a concise LinkedIn post, Hade expressed enthusiasm about embarking on a project developed with Supercell, stating, "Will reveal all soon."

The venture is expected to incorporate existing Space Ape titles like Beatstar and Country Star.

Supercell, after holding a 62% share in Space Ape, expanded its investment in the studio in November by acquiring the London-based company.

This marks Supercell's debut office in the UK. CEO Ilkka Paananen remarked, "We believe the best teams create the best games, so we are really excited to find our place within London's incredibly talented games ecosystem by joining forces with Space Ape."
