Plaion’s Chief Executive Officer has resigned, 31 years after founding Koch Media

Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Plaion, will step down after 31 years since co-founding the company, which was originally named Koch Media.

Beginning April 2025, Kundratitz will transition to a strategic advisory position within Embracer, opting to withdraw from daily management to "take a step back and focus on family."

Phil Rogers, currently Deputy CEO, is set to take over leadership duties.

Kundratitz expressed his satisfaction in entrusting leadership to Rogers, saying Rogers possesses the necessary leadership qualities and vision to advance Middle-earth & Friends and sustain Plaion's impressive progress.

"Creating this company has been a tremendous journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with outstanding teams worldwide," Kundratitz remarked. "The role has been both thrilling and fulfilling, and I am proud of our collective accomplishments in the entertainment sector."

Phil Rogers stated, "Klemens has dedicated much of his life to Plaion, establishing a significant legacy in the European entertainment arena. I am eager to work alongside Plaion's leadership as we develop the new business unit, Middle-earth & Friends."

Kundratitz, along with Franz Koch, founded Koch Media in 1994 as a software distributor in Germany, Austria, and the UK. The company is known for series like Metro, Dead Island, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Following its acquisition by Embracer Group in 2018, Plaion now employs over 2,000 people across 15 countries.
