Jobs at Splash Damage may be in jeopardy after the cancellation of Transformers: Reactivate
A planned online action game, Transformers: Reactivate, from Splash Damage, has been scrapped, potentially jeopardizing numerous positions at the development studio.
In an official communication, the company described the resolution to cancel as "very difficult," and despite all attempts, several roles within the organization face the threat of redundancy.
The announcement did not provide specific reasons for halting the project. However, it expressed gratitude towards the team for their commitment and enthusiasm.
The studio praised Hasbro as a supportive collaborator and expressed a desire for future opportunities to partner. Splash Damage acknowledged the support from fans as a source of motivation.
Although ending the project was challenging, the loss of colleagues is felt more deeply. The studio is committed to assisting affected employees during this period and aims to nurture a more robust team for the future.
Recently, reports surfaced about Rocksteady initiating further layoffs, marking the second occurrence within months and coming right before the holiday season.
