Rocksteady reduced its workforce further at the close of 2024
Rocksteady, the studio behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, executed another wave of job reductions towards the end of 2024, marking the second instance in three months.
As covered by Eurogamer, six developers affected by these layoffs confirmed their situation to a related website. Employees from programming, artistry, and QA teams were among those let go.
This recent staff reduction follows a previous round of layoffs by Rocksteady Studios, a Warner Bros. entity, in September 2024.
Details on the total number of employees affected remain unknown, and Warner Bros. has yet to issue a comment in response to media inquiries.
Warner Bros. admitted post-launch that Suicide Squad failed to meet the company's projections, particularly in comparison to the success of Hogwarts Legacy released around the same time the prior year.
Subsequent reports highlighted several issues during the game's development, including shifting creative directions, exacting leadership, and Rocksteady's limited familiarity with both multiplayer and live service game models.
