First shown at CES last year, the Xyn, pronounced "zin," was officially introduced today, January 7. This device is engineered for the creation of 3D content in film, animation, and gaming. It highlights 4K OLED screens, video passthrough capabilities, and integrates with various third-party design, modeling, and production software.
According to Sony, the Xyn leverages its "unique technology" to provide accurate real-world capture and smooth integration with a variety of external tools for a more adaptable workflow.
A video demonstration shared by The Verge illustrates that the device's display can be flipped up to be out of the way when not in use, and it syncs with the new app, Xyn Motion Studio.
Details regarding the release date and pricing have not yet been announced.
This introduction follows the removal of Meta's Quest Pro headset from the market, as noted by the latest industry reports.
Additionally, Sony has become the largest shareholder of Kadokawa Corporation, which owns FromSoftware, expanding its reach in the gaming industry, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.
