The Quest Pro headset from Meta has been discontinued.

According to a report from RoadtoVR, the official Quest Pro webpage confirms that the "Meta Quest Pro is no longer available," encouraging consumers to consider the Meta Quest 3 for an enhanced mixed reality experience and superior comfort.

Launched in October 2022, the headset was initially priced at $1,500, targeting advanced users and VR specialists. It featured 256 GB of storage, and its advanced optical lenses were 40% lighter with better resolution screens compared to the Meta Quest 2.

The device also included capabilities for facial and eye tracking, aiming to enhance social interaction in apps by allowing avatars to mimic users' facial expressions.

Despite its innovative features, the Quest Pro struggled to capture the market, leading to a September announcement from Meta that it would be discontinuing the Quest 2, Quest Pro, and the 128GB version of the Quest 3.

The Meta Quest 3S debuted in October, coinciding with Meta announcing a $4.4 billion loss in its AR/VR Reality Labs division for the third quarter. This was the third consecutive quarterly loss in this sector, following a $3.8 billion loss in the first quarter and a $4.5 billion loss in the second quarter.
