Seven employees have been let go at Flashbulb Games, the Denmark-based developer.

The company described the layoffs as a difficult necessity following the cancellation of an undisclosed project. The remainder of the team was transferred to work on its principal game, Trailmakers, with only seven workers affected.

Studio CEO Christopher Håkonsson stated, according to Game Developer, "Although making this choice was challenging, most of the team from the canceled project has been moved to Trailmakers, our main title."

He further emphasized their intention to quicken the development of Trailmakers, expressing enthusiasm about expanding the game for their user community.

Flashbulb was formed in 2016 by veterans of companies such as Rare, CCP, and IO.

Recently, nearly 100 employees were dismissed from Warner Games Montreal. Across the industry in 2024, more than 14,600 positions have been eliminated.
