Dark Passenger, a Polish gaming studio established by former Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 developers, recently secured $3 million in funding.

The investment, featuring contributions from The Games Fund and Blite Fund, will facilitate the development of their first title, an undisclosed multiplayer stealth-action game inspired by Feudal Japan. Additionally, the studio plans to increase its workforce, currently at 30, to over 60 team members by the game's release.

Founded two years ago by ex-CD Projekt team members Jakub Ben and Paweł Kuleta, the studio also includes Marcin Michalski, a senior environment artist from The Witcher 3.

Team members have experience from companies like People Can Fly, Flying Wild Hog, Reikon, and RealTime Warriors.

CEO Jakub Ben commented on the industry's potential and expressed gratitude for the support from The Games Fund, highlighting the investment as pivotal in strengthening their team and focusing on the game's production.

Ilia Eremeev, co-founder of The Games Fund, noted the industry's need for daring games and praised Dark Passenger's early demo for its exceptional quality, aligning with their ambition for a thrilling gaming experience.
