Astro Bot clinched the Game of the Year accolade at The Game Awards 2024
At The Game Awards last evening, Team Asobi achieved a significant victory with their title, Astro Bot, which claimed four accolades, including the highly coveted Game of the Year.
Astro Bot further secured triumphs in categories for Best Game Direction, Best Family Game, and Best Action/Adventure Game.
Studio Zen’s Metaphor: ReFantazio and LocalThunk’s Balatro were also prominent, each securing three wins.
Metaphor: ReFantazio triumphed in Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG, while Balatro was awarded Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, and Best Mobile Game.
The event featured numerous announcements and trailers, such as a glimpse into CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 4, Naughty Dog's new project titled Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and confirmation of a sequel to the 2006 game Okami.
This year saw the introduction of the Game Changers Award, presented to Tencent's business development director Amir Satvat for his contributions to supporting developers impacted by layoffs and studio closures.
