The mobile studio Glow Up Games has closed after five years of operation
Glow Up Games is yet another game development studio that didn’t survive the crisis in the gaming industry. Its closure was announced on LinkedIn by CEO Mitu Khandaker.
Insecure: The Come Up Game
According to Khandaker, the studio couldn’t continue handling the financial and other issues that beset it.
Glow Up Games was founded in 2019 in New York and specialized in mobile development. Its only game was Insecure: The Come Up Game, inspired by HBO’s series “Insecure.” The title launched in soft launch format in December 2021 and, according to the AppMagic service, has since earned only $2,800 in IAP from 48,400 downloads. This is the net revenue after Glow Up Games paid app store commissions and taxes.
Glow Up Games turned out to be the fourth studio to announce its closure in December. Previously, closures were announced for Ubisoft San Francisco, Ubisoft Osaka, and Sweet Bandits Studios.
