In Japan's November game sales chart, Square Enix's remake of Dragon Quest 3 in the HD-2D style achieved the top position by selling 712,188 copies on the Switch within a fortnight.

The PlayStation 5 version also performed well, reaching second with sales of 200,944 units. The total sales for the game since its launch on November 14, 2024, reached 913,000 copies.

When placed alongside previous Dragon Quest remakes, it outperformed Dragon Quest 7: Journey of the Cursed King, which sold 733,000 copies in its first two weeks after its 2015 launch on the 3DS.

Meanwhile, Super Mario Party Jamboree slipped to third place with another 168,000 copies sold. Mario and Luigi: Brothership entered the rankings in fourth, selling 88,539 units.

Square Enix dominated the market with a 54.1% share, generating ¥6.5 billion ($43.2 million), marking a 30.9% advantage over Nintendo, spurred by the success of Dragon Quest 3.

The PlayStation 5 showed a significant increase in sales, tripling the October figures, attributed to the PS5 Pro release on November 7, which accounted for 102,092 units sold. Altogether, the PS5's variants sold 151,000 units.

However, the Switch maintained the top hardware spot, with aggregate sales of 255,401 units across its three models. It was also the leading platform for boxed game sales, amassing 1.5 million units within the focused timeframe.
