Electronic Arts has expanded its offering of accessible technology by adding 23 new patents to its open-access collection. These include developments in photosensitivity analysis plugins, advanced speech recognition, and converting text into expressive audio.

The company emphasized its dedication to making gaming inclusive by allowing developers industry-wide to use these patents without any cost.

Additionally, EA is launching a new Unreal Engine 5 plugin. This tool integrates EA's photosensitivity analysis technology, IRIS, which became open source in a previous update, aiding developers in real-time detection of frames that might adversely affect players susceptible to photosensitivity.

"Our goal is for games to be enjoyed by everyone, and our pioneering teams relentlessly pursue innovations to achieve this," stated Kerry Hopkins, EA's Senior Vice President of Global Affairs.

"By sharing this technology, we are proactively working to improve accessibility and inclusivity, facilitating easier access for players globally,” she added.
