IllFonic, a game development studio, has announced reductions in its workforce.

Charles Brungardt, CEO and co-founder, revealed in a statement the tough choice forced by the "current state of the industry", necessitating a strategic overhaul, which he described as emotionally challenging.

Brungardt shared on social media, "Today we faced the difficult truth that industry conditions have affected us at IllFonic. It is with great sadness that staff reductions were necessary as we shift our strategy."

He invited those hiring to connect with affected employees in an effort to help them find new opportunities, concluding his statement with "Thank you."

Details on the number of employees affected or how the company's future plans will evolve were not disclosed by Brungardt. The implications for their ongoing projects remain unknown.

Established in 2007, IllFonic operates independently out of Colorado and Washington, with a portfolio that includes games like Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and Friday the 13th: The Game, among others.
