Throughout 2024, gaming companies worldwide actively reduced their workforce. November was no exception. According to estimates by Game Industry Layoffs, last month 838 gaming specialists lost their jobs.

Top 5 gaming companies by number of employees laid off in November:
- NCSOFT — 500 people;
- Thunderful Group — 80-100 people;
- Humanoid Origin — 70 people (studio closed);
- Reflector Entertainment — 45 people;
- Worlds Untold — 35 people (studio suspended operations).
Note that the statistics from Game Industry Layoffs are incomplete. For example, the portal did not include the November layoffs at Kwalee, Payload Studios, Cloud Imperium Games, and Sky Mavis. By rough estimates, these four companies alone may have laid off about 80 people in total.
In any case, in terms of layoffs, November 2024 was much calmer than November 2023. A year ago, in the last month of fall, gaming companies cut 2,775 people — three times more than now.
