Rebecka Coutaz from DICE assumes leadership of Battlefield Studios Europe in a new position
Rebecka Coutaz, who serves as vice president and general manager at DICE, has taken on additional responsibilities for the UK-based Criterion under Electronic Arts.
Despite the unified leadership, DICE and Criterion will continue to function independently in their operations. Her oversight also includes strategic collaboration with other North American studios, such as Motive and Ripple Effect, for the Battlefield series' future developments.
Coutaz became an integral part of the DICE management team in November 2021, coinciding with the release of Battlefield 2042. Her extensive career in the gaming sector spans more than 25 years, including long tenures at Ubisoft and Atari.
In recognition of her significant contributions to the gaming industry, she received the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Minister of Culture in 2022.
Her expanded role will focus on advancing both DICE and Criterion and actively shaping the Battlefield series' future.
She expressed enthusiasm about her enhanced role, stating that working with the talented teams has been a privilege. She aims to elevate both studios, acknowledging their distinctive heritage and pioneering spirit within the European gaming community.
Coutaz emphasized her commitment to fostering innovation to improve player experiences. She also stressed the importance of collaboration among all associated studios in amplifying the Battlefield brand on a global scale and expressed her eagerness to welcome passionate new team members.
