A studio founded by a former Mass Effect writer has announced a halt in operations
Another studio of BioWare veterans has encountered difficulties. Following the closure of Humanoid Studios, it has become known that the Canadian studio Worlds Untold has decided to temporarily halt operations.
Worlds Untold has announced that it is forced to pause its work to seek a new partner who can help “bring its vision to life.” It is unclear whether this means the studio is leaving its parent company, the Chinese giant NetEase, or simply looking for an additional investor.
In its statement, Worlds Untold emphasized that it is not saying goodbye to players. The studio hopes to resume work in the future, but it is unknown when this might happen. Despite this promise, at least some employees of Worlds Untold have decided to resign.
Let’s recall, Worlds Untold was established just over a year ago. It was founded by Mac Walters, who was previously one of the lead writers for the Mass Effect trilogy, narrative director for Anthem, and production lead for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which was known as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf during his tenure at BioWare.
Worlds Untold was working on an original IP AAA-level adventure action game set in the near future.
