Bandai Namco Online is set to be dissolved and merged with Bandai Namco. This strategic move, described as an "absorption-type merger" in a recent press release, will end the operation of the subsidiary formed in 2009 to focus on online gaming ventures. Activities from Bandai Namco Online will be integrated into the parent company.

Details on whether employees and ongoing game projects will transition to the parent organization remain uncertain. The merger, which is to be finalized by April 1, 2025, is prompted by industry shifts. Despite the consolidation, Bandai Namco assures its commitment to delivering popular titles such as Idolish7 and Gundam Tribe to meet and surpass consumer expectations.

Earlier announcements this year disclosed the termination of Japanese servers for Blue Protocol in January 2025, along with the cancellation of its release in Western markets. Additionally, reports emerged last month of workforce reductions as a result of shelving numerous projects due to weak demand. Allegedly, 200 out of 1300 employees were reassigned to so-called "expulsion rooms," or "oidashi beya," resulting in nearly half opting to leave the company themselves. Bandai Namco has refuted these allegations.
