In 2024, Baldur's Gate 3 became even more popular
Larian Studios' Publishing Director Michael Douse shared on the social network X some impressive achievements of Baldur’s Gate 3. He mentioned that in 2024, several metrics of the game surpassed those in its release year.

What metrics improved for Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2024:
- average daily peak online users — up by 3% compared to 2023;
- average number of daily active players — up by 20% compared to 2023;
- average daily audience on Steam Deck — up by 61% compared to 2023.
According to Douse, Baldur’s Gate 3 achieved more popularity thanks to the official mod support introduced in the game in September 2024. By the end of October, players had downloaded over 50 million mods.
Douse also noted that the Vatican recently purchased another copy of Baldur’s Gate 3. Last week, he wrote that two copies had been sold in the Vatican and one was on the wishlist. The new copy was most likely purchased by a different person than the one who previously added Baldur’s Gate 3 to the wishlist. As Douse writes, Baldur’s Gate 3 is still on the wish list of a Vatican resident. The total number of Baldur’s Gate 3 copies sold worldwide was not disclosed by the Larian Studios' Publishing Director.
