Bit Odd secures €17 million in a recent funding round
Finnish mobile game developer Bit Odd has garnered €17 million in a recent funding round, spearheaded by Griffin Gaming Partners.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the round also saw participation from Makers Fund, Index Ventures, among others.
This financial boost is intended to fuel their upcoming multiplayer action game, which is set to debut on iOS and Android platforms next year.
Studio co-founder Lasse Louhento remarked, "We initiated Bit Odd because we felt the gaming world lacked something essential. The mobile gaming expansion has been phenomenal but has nudged many toward a finance-focused model.
"Our philosophy diverges as we aim to create games that resonate emotionally, embrace uniqueness, and capture the magical essence of classic games."
Pierre Planche of Griffin Gaming Partners commented, "Releasing a genuinely novel game requires courage, sincerity, and unmatched dedication to the art. In today’s data-driven design landscape, Bit Odd is paving its distinct path. We are thrilled to support Louhento and his talented team."
Based in Helsinki, Bit Odd was established in 2022 by former Supercell developers Lasse Louhento, Jani Lintunen, and Taneli Oksama.
The company emerged from stealth mode in June 2022, when Bit Odd secured €5 million in its initial funding round.
