Ruckus Games has secured $19 million in a funding round spearheaded by Krafton

Ruckus Games, a studio located in Texas, has secured $19 million in a Series A funding round, with Krafton as the lead investor.

Contributions to this investment round also came from Bitkraft Ventures, Transcend, and Hypergryph, among others.

The raised capital is allocated for creating Ruckus's initial project, a cooperative shooter game based on team rosters.

Last year in September, the studio obtained $5.5 million in seed funding from Transcend Fund. This financing helped a 14-member team to develop a prototype over the course of a year. The game, which remains unnamed, is scheduled for early playtesting during the upcoming winter season.

Established in 2021 by veterans from Gearbox and Riot, Ruckus is headed by Paul Sage, who previously served as the creative director for Borderlands 3.

Paul Sage stated, "Having Krafton and Hypergryph on board is fantastic. They offer not just widespread reach but also, as developers, bring an invaluable viewpoint to our team."

Maria Park, Krafton's head of corporate development, remarked, "We have confidence in the future of cooperative gaming. The Ruckus team has made remarkable strides quickly, crafting an experience that combines stylish action with humor. It's engaging and connects players in memorable ways, aligning well with Krafton's vision."
