Ubisoft names a new chief people officer

Sébastien Froidefond has been named Ubisoft's new chief people officer.

According to a statement from Ubisoft, Froidefond will start his new role on November 20. He will be responsible for overseeing the company's global HR strategies and enhancing human resources excellence. Froidefond will report directly to Cécile Russeil, EVP of communications.

Froidefond brings extensive experience in human resources, with expertise in HR strategy, performance management, cultural development, and fostering employee engagement. Before joining Ubisoft, he served as the human resources Americans lead at Lactalis Americas.

He has also held senior HR roles in various industries, such as beauty, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences.

Froidefond succeeds Anika Grant, who departed from the company in November 2023.

In related news, more than 700 Ubisoft France employees participated in a strike last month to protest against policies concerning remote work and compensation. The French gaming workers union STJV (Syndicat des Travailleurs et Travailleuses du Jeu Vidéo) highlighted the directive requiring employees to work in the office at least three days each week as a significant grievance.
