The GAMM Game Museum is set to inaugurate in Rome

The Video Game Museum of Rome, VIGAMUS, is set to open a new venue dedicated to video games at the end of this month.

The new institution, named GAMM - Game Museum, will be inaugurated on November 30, 2024, after the Checkpoint Festival of Interactive Experiences.

Located at Piazza della Repubblica, the museum will cover 700 square meters and be organized across two floors with three distinct thematic sections.

This innovative museum will offer a blend of state-of-the-art digital presentations and rare artifacts, allowing guests to gain insight into the evolution of video games.

Kabuto, a startup established by VIGAMUS with seasoned professionals in the entertainment sector, will oversee GAMM.

Marco Accordi Rickards, the director of GAMM, stated that the museum's objective is to showcase video games as significant cultural and artistic expressions. Visitors will have the chance to engage with exhibits that emphasize historical and technological developments in gameplay.

Luisa Bixio, a co-founder of Kabuto, remarked that GAMM will provide an immersive experience where global visitors can examine the medium of video games, tracing back to its origins and exploring its most recent innovations, all within a new and exciting venue in central Rome.
