Charity organization Take This, which focuses on mental health, announced that Kelli Dunlap will assume the role of executive director, succeeding Eve Crevoshay. This change follows a fruitful fundraising campaign that ensures continued operations.

The transition in leadership at Take This will occur on October 31, 2024, as detailed in a statement on their blog. Crevoshay will continue to contribute as a board director. Dunlap, who has been part of the team since 2019, has been working as the community director.

Crevoshay reflected on her tenure through a letter where she described her mix of emotions about leaving, citing her feelings of relief and sadness. She recounted her experience joining Take This in 2018 at a time when it was a small outfit with great potential to promote mental health awareness within the gaming world. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its reach and enhanced its programs.

Dunlap, in her own communication, outlined her vision for 2025 that includes the continuation and growth of pivotal initiatives like the Accelerate Program for mental health education in gaming, the wellness-focused AFK Program at game events, and broader industry education efforts.

Earlier this year, Take This faced possible closure due to an $80,000 budget gap, but as per a recent update, they successfully surpassed their fundraising goal by raising close to $100,000 over two months.

"We are thrilled to announce that our operations will continue, and we are preparing for 2025 with a focus on securing our organization's stability and financial health," the update declared. "Our immediate efforts in 2024 will center on transition, evaluation, and reinforcing our mission and community connections."
