Netflix has renewed its animated series based on the Tomb Raider franchise for a second season
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will return for a second season on Netflix, thanks to a renewal by Netflix and Legendary Television.
The upcoming season will see Tasha Huo returning as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, along with Hayley Atwell, who reprised her role as the voice of Lara Croft in the initial season.
Dmitri M. Johnson and Howard Bliss from DJ2 Entertainment will continue as executive producers. Jacob Robinson, the head of Tractor Pants, a company specializing in animation, will remain involved.
Timothy I. Stevenson of DJ2 Entertainment will join as an executive producer for the second installment, alongside Crystal Dynamics' Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes, and Amazon Studios' Jen Chambers.
Huo mentioned in an interview with Netflix's Tudum that the first season revolves around Lara learning to cope with solitude as her father did in the face of grief.
In the next season, Lara's journey involves forming a team, shifting from a solitary adventurer to recognizing the strength of having supportive allies.
The collaboration between Netflix and Legendary to develop the series was initially announced in 2021, leading to its debut on October 10, 2024, as detailed in GamesIndustry.biz.
