A recent report indicates that Twitch saw a "rebound" in monthly hours watched during September
In September, Twitch's total hours of viewing increased, reaching 1.653 billion hours from June's figure of 1.568 billion hours.
Despite not yet matching the 1.902 billion hours watched in January, according to StreamElements’ State of the Stream report, which cites data from Rainmaker.gg, Twitch is on a recovery path post-midyear decline, with a rise in daily viewing from 45 million to 55 million hours — the highest since April.
Among the releases for 2024, EA Sports PC 25 became only the second game to enter the top 10 most-watched games list on Twitch, following Palworld’s success in January. Dota 2 also saw a notable increase of 78% in viewership, largely due to The International championship event.
"September marked two pivotal achievements for Twitch that fueled each other's momentum: an increase in daily viewing hours and changes in the top streamer lineup," stated Or Perry, CEO of StreamElements.
"FaZe Clan members conducted simultaneous subathons, each lasting over 695 hours, which catapulted four creators into the top 10 rankings for the first time, with Stableronaldo achieving the top spot. This activity also contributed to the top 100 streamers' share of total hours watched, rising to 20% in 2024, compared to the usual 17%. These FaZe Clan events, involving joint streams, highlighted the use of features like Stream Together that facilitate collaborative streaming."
