Studio Thunderhorse closes its doors

Studio Thunderhorse, an independent game development company, is shutting its doors.

The company, based in California, explained via social media that "various challenges and development obstacles" contributed to their decision to close the studio.

The announcement stated, "After over ten years of creating games and engaging with this remarkable community, we have reached the tough conclusion to close Studio Thunderhorse."

"Despite our serious efforts in recent months, we faced numerous challenges and developmental difficulties, signaling that taking a step back is the optimal decision for the long-term well-being of our team and studio," the statement continued.

The studio further expressed, "This journey was filled with enthusiasm, innovation, and, importantly, the opportunity to connect with everyone, making the decision even more challenging."

Established in 2015 by Simon Filip, Studio Thunderhorse launched two mobile titles, Samurai Blitz and Raccoon Rascals, that same year.

In 2021, the studio debuted its first major title, Flynn: Son of Crimson, published by Humble Games.

Before its closure, Studio Thunderhorse was at work on a new game titled Ronin Rush.
