Here's what GamesIndustry.biz has planned for MCM x EGX 2024

GamesIndustry.biz is set to contribute to the B2B content segment at MCM x EGX 2024.

This event will take place in ExCel London's Platinum Suite on Friday, October 25. Registrations for passes are available here.

Chris Dring, Head of GI, will begin the business sessions by examining key aspects of the gaming industry in 2024 and offering predictions. His presentation will address significant topics such as layoffs, closures of studios, and anticipated trends for 2025.

In a separate session, Editor-in-Chief James Batchelor will moderate a panel titled 'Join the golden age of gaming adaptations: How games, TV, and Hollywood creators can build new worlds together'.

The panel will include Amanda Kruse from Big Fan, Ubisoft's Etienne Bouvier, and John Gillard from The Gillard Consultancy, focusing on the synergy between video games and other entertainment sectors.

Other key sessions will cover topics like securing funding for game development. Jon Hicks will lead a session featuring Gina Jackson from Pitchify, Gus Carley from Venture Partners, and Nick Button-Brown from The Games Angels, discussing accessible funding avenues for developers.

Sheridans' senior associate Anna Poulter-Jones will delve into legal subjects in her talk 'Are you safe from lawyers? What recent cases mean for developers', focusing on the legalities surrounding game development, including issues related to characters and genres.

In the concluding panel, Hicks will again lead a discussion with Playtonic's Sophie Shanks and Kepler Interactive's Callum Owen-Vallentin, exploring strategies for a successful game launch beyond just building wishlists.

The program is scheduled to finish at 4pm, followed by a networking session.
