Women make up 47% of Nintendo Switch players in the UK
In the UK, nearly 50% of Nintendo Switch users are women, according to a survey by Ipsos UK's GameTrack for Video Games Europe. The findings reveal that 47% of individuals using the gaming console are female, a figure that has more than doubled over the past five years.
The highest proportion of female Switch players falls within the 15 to 24 age range, making up 26% of the demographic. This is closely followed by the 11 to 14 age group at 19%, and the 25 to 34 age category at 17%. The smallest representation comes from those aged 45 to 64, comprising only 8% of the users.
Coinciding with these insights, Nintendo has launched a new television commercial in the UK. The advertisement showcases singer-songwriter Raye and her siblings enjoying games such as Animal Crossing and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
