Stillfront has dismissed its founder and chief executive officer, Jörgen Larsson, from his role.

The board of Stillfront is now on the hunt for a new chief executive, appointing Alexis Bonte, formerly the president of publishing and business acceleration, to act as interim CEO during the transition period.

Chairwoman Katarina Bonde stated that although Stillfront's financial health "remains strong," they have "concluded that a change in leadership is necessary for moving forward."

Bonde remarked, "The steps we've taken have bolstered our profitability and cash flow remains robust, as does our financial standing. Nonetheless, there is critical work to be done to bolster the company's growth and fulfill the cost-saving plans announced alongside the introduction of a new management structure, organizing operations into three distinct business sectors."

She further suggested, "As Stillfront embarks on this new chapter, steering the company with renewed vigor and decisiveness requires a leadership refresh."

Larsson expressed, "I am deeply proud of Stillfront's achievements and the prominent position it holds today. The company has a seasoned team, a solid strategy, and immense potential future opportunities. I will maintain a substantial shareholding and continue to watch the company's progress closely."

The decision follows an announcement in September 2024, where Stillfront unveiled a new group management strategy, dividing operations into three distinct areas to boost organic growth, enhance profitability, and improve transparency.

According to Stillfront's announcement, a focus on key franchises and addressing underperforming games is part of the strategy. These optimization efforts are expected to be fully realized by the end of 2025, aiming to save between 200 to 250 million SEK annually compared to the costs annualized in the second quarter of 2024.
