SAG-AFTRA has recommenced talks with video game companies

Original story: The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) announced a return to the negotiating table following three months of strikes. Talks will proceed with the convenience bargaining group, which encompasses representatives from companies like Activision, Blindlight, Disney Character Voices, EA, Formosa Interactive, Insomniac Games, Llama Productions, Take 2, and WB Games.
Both parties have yet to provide further comments, but discussions are set to resume on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
The decision to go on strike was backed by SAG-AFTRA members at the end of July. The impasse was primarily related to issues surrounding rights and protection due to the industry's advancement in AI technologies.
The performers' union, SAG-AFTRA, has struck deals with developers of 80 forthcoming games during its campaign for improved conditions for actors, including safeguards against AI applications.
