NaturalMotion may be considering job cuts in both the United States and the United Kingdom
The gaming firm NaturalMotion, under the ownership of Zynga, is anticipated to implement layoffs at its US and UK locations. Though the precise number of affected employees is uncertain, insiders have indicated that the company has already started downsizing and closed its Birmingham studio, which was initially launched in 2019.
Responses from Zynga confirm an ongoing assessment of its workforce across these regions, acknowledging potential job impacts. The spokesperson refrained from providing additional details beyond the official statement available.
The official declaration states: "A critical component of uniting people through games involves a commitment to operational efficiency. In pursuit of this, we are reassessing our operations in the UK and US, potentially affecting numerous roles. We believe these adjustments will support the studio's sustainability and future development goals."
The company emphasized continuity in player services despite the transition, promising to handle the situation with care and respect towards the impacted staff.
Zynga is a subsidiary of Take-Two, which earlier this year announced plans for workforce reductions across its operations. The company projected a 5% decrease in its global staff, equaling around 580 positions.
