Sports Interactive has decided to postpone Football Manager 25's launch to March 2025.

In contrast, FM24 made its debut worldwide on November 6, 2023.

In an official announcement on X/Twitter, Sports Interactive revealed that delaying the football simulation—originally planned for November 26—was a difficult choice.

"After thorough discussions, Sports Interactive, in collaboration with Sega and other stakeholders, has opted to further delay Football Manager 25 to March 2025," stated the developer.

The studio elaborated that in their previous update in September, a decision was made to extend FM25's development period to enhance the overall experience in its newest phase. However, the time extension was inadequate to satisfy the anticipated quality standards.

Further details on platform-specific releases are expected, but SI has not disclosed how this delay will affect FM26's future development and release schedule.

According to Sports Interactive, this has been a challenging production period, with progress being slower than anticipated. They admitted to rushing as they aim to make unprecedented technological and visual improvements to the series by transitioning to Unity.

This postponement comes as a setback for SI, following a record-breaking year with Football Manager 2024.
