Another gaming association has been established in Russia
The newspaper "Kommersant" reported that a new industrial association, the "Association of the Gaming Industry" (AGI), has started operating in Russia.
As "Kommersant" writes, AGI was formally registered back in 2020, but it has not been widely known until recently. An AGI representative confirmed the existence of the association to the newspaper, but refused to disclose its members. According to "Kommersant" sources in the gaming market, AGI includes at least Lesta Games and 1C Game Studios.
According to the SPARK-Interfax database, the head of AGI is Vladimir Prokuronov, a former deputy director for development at the ANO "Digital Economy". He assumed his position in the association on October 3, 2024.
It is reported that the new association will focus on "shaping the business community's stance on initiatives in the fields of game development and digital creative industries".
It is worth noting that before AGI, three associations announced their launch in Russia over the past two years. These are the "Organization for the Development of the Video Gaming Industry" (ODVGI), the "Association of Professionals of the Game Operations and Development Industry" (APRIDI), and the "Russian Association of Distributors and Importers of Video Games" (R.A.D.I. Video Games).
