The former creative director of Mario + Rabbids has opened his own studio
Davide Soliani, the former Creative Director of Mario + Rabbids, left Ubisoft in July 2024 after more than two decades with the company, deciding to "embark on a new adventure." It has now been revealed that he, alongside other industry veterans, has established a new game development studio.
The studio is named Day 4 Night. Along with Soliani, it was launched by three other former Ubisoft members: Cristina Nava, Gian Marco Zanna, and Luca Breda. Joining the founding team is Christian Cantamessa, a former lead designer of the first Red Dead Redemption.
Little is known about Day 4 Night's first game. According to the developers, it will be an original and innovative project that "pushes the boundaries of storytelling and game design." Details about the platforms and approximate release timeframe of the game have not been disclosed.
Day 4 Night has already secured investments to develop the game. The studio received funding from South Korean company KRAFTON and organization 1Up Veterans.
